Sara provides guidance to Fulfillment Fund community college-bound high school seniors and current community college students preparing to transfer. In addition to one-on-one counseling, she coordinates the Transfer Scholars Program, a recently developed program that aims to ensure Transfer Scholars transfer to 4-year institutions within 2-3 years, a critical challenge for most first-generation college students on the 2-year college track.
Prior to joining the Fulfillment Fund, Sara spent a year overseas teaching English in Daejeon, South Korea. Before that, she was program coordinator of a pilot UCLA research project for EdBoost Learning Center. The virtual college access project served over 80 of the largest low-income public high schools in the greater-LA area to increase 4-year university enrollment rates. During her time at UC Berkeley, she peer-tutored in writing and was an AmeriCorps volunteer with the Alternative Breaks Program.
Sara graduated from University of California, Berkeley, with a B.A. in English and a minor in Education.
