General Summary:
The Development Coordinator will support the Director of Development/Major Gifts in executing the organization’s donor stewardship and volunteer coordination strategies. This early-career entry-level role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with 1–3 years of experience in nonprofit development, donor relations, or volunteer coordination. The Coordinator will assist in maintaining donor and volunteer records in Raiser’s Edge, supporting event logistics, and facilitating stewardship activities to enhance relationships with donors and volunteers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
(Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of Director of Development/Major Gifts.)

Donor Stewardship and Data Management:

  • Manage and update accurate records of donor information, interactions, and gifts in Raiser’s Edge, ensuring high standards of data accuracy.
  • Assist in producing donor acknowledgments, such as thank-you letters, reports, and personalized outreach, to build and maintain relationships with supporters.
  • Generate donor and activity reports to track engagement, identify trends, and inform the development team’s strategies.

Volunteer Coordination:

  • Oversee volunteer recruitment, scheduling, and engagement for events and development activities, providing a meaningful and positive experience for volunteers.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for volunteers, ensuring effective communication and support for their contributions.
  • Track volunteer hours and maintain records to report on volunteer impact and engagement.

Event and Meeting Support:

  • Provide logistical support for development events and meetings, including setting up venues, coordinating schedules, and preparing agendas and materials.
  • Assist in promoting events to donors, partners, and volunteers, and support event setup and execution.
  • Document event activities through photos and notes, capturing content for social media, newsletters, and promotional materials.

Administrative Support:

  • Support administrative functions within the development department, including organizing meetings, maintaining files, and tracking budgets for events and projects.
  • Assist in tracking development and fundraising metrics, helping to assess the impact of engagement strategies and campaign performance.

Communications and Marketing Support:

  • Assist with donor communications, including drafting content for email campaigns, newsletters, and social media posts to highlight donor impact.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop content that celebrates donor and volunteer contributions and enhances community engagement.

Supervisory and Team Leadership Responsibilities:
The position has does not have any staff supervisory responsibilities.

  • Familiarity with Raiser’s Edge or similar CRM systems; proficiency in data entry and report generation.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on donor and volunteer engagement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with digital tools like Zoom and event management software preferred.
  • Team player with a collaborative spirit, growth mindset, ability to “manage up,” and eagerness to contribute to the organization’s mission.

Education and/or Experience:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Communications, Social Sciences/Liberal Arts, Business, or a related field.

Experience: 1-3 years in nonprofit development, volunteer coordination, or a related field, with experience in donor relations preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • A current California Driver’s License and current automobile insurance coverage.

This job operates in a professional office environment with a hybrid workplace policy. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones. While performing the duties of this job, must be available to work irregular hours, shifts, weekends, and holidays. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Employee will constantly work in indoor/outdoor weather conditions.

Compensation:

  • Salary:  $47,840/year
  • Full benefits package including health, vision, dental, and retirement plans.
