Elizabeth Waner joined the Fulfillment Fund in September 2018. As a College Access Advisor, Elizabeth provides academic advising for 9th-11th grade students at our newest partner schools: School for the Visual Arts and Humanities (SVAH) and UCLA Community School. By facilitating in-class workshops and conducting one-on-one check-ins, Elizabeth supports high school students as they prepare for higher education. As a Fulfillment Fund alum, she is excited to have the opportunity to support students from her community. She hopes to use her experience as a Fulfilment Fund Scholar to continue to empower youth in Los Angeles.
Prior to joining Fulfillment Fund, Elizabeth worked as a College Pathways Coordinator at A Place Called Home. During her time there, she worked with first-year college students by providing academic advising, facilitating a College Prep course, and coordinating scholarship events. During college, Elizabeth participated in MEChA’s La Escuelita, where she visited Santa Ana High School and facilitated weekly workshops focused on mental health, sociopolitical issues, and college access. She also served as a Student Support Intern at South Central Scholars, where she focused on one-on-one advising, programming, and workshop development.
Elizabeth attended University of California, Irvine where she earned a B.A. in Education Sciences with a specialization in Early Childhood Learning and Development and a minor in Sociology.
