Karla joined the Fulfillment Fund in 2015. As a mentor program manager, Karla oversees mentor recruitment efforts and mentor trainings for the program. She is also responsible for supporting and case managing an endless amount of teams of mentors and students to form successful relationships. She works directly with students to ensure that they are doing well in all academic areas as well as in their personal and emotional development. She hopes that through this work she can support students and their families find their desired path from middle school to high school graduation, college and beyond. Karla is deeply committed to the growth and development of the future of the students she works with.
Prior to joining the Fulfillment Fund, Karla worked as a Social Work Investigator in dependency court advocating for the protection and well-being of the children that were a part of the DCFS system. Karla also worked for many years with The LA’s BEST After School program as a site coordinator providing after school programming, leadership and supervision of the overall program.
Karla earned her BA in child development from Cal State LA with a specialization in Youth Agency Administration.
