Director John Kuhlmann

About John

John is the Director of our College Access Program. He’s an educational leader with 20 years of experience working in Los Angeles area schools as a school counselor, college counselor, college instructor, and school site administrator. His work has centered around building college access programs, school-based mental health supports, and implementing innovative research-based educational practices to improve the academic achievement of all students.

John understands the challenges that many students face in their daily lives. He has been an advocate of underrepresented and vulnerable youth populations throughout his career and is passionate about creating equitable opportunities that help students thrive and fulfill their life goals. John has a proven record of improving graduation rates and A-G requirement completion rates of students he has counseled and schools he has led.
