Counselor Gloria Zelaya

About Gloria

I was born in El Salvador and grew up in Los Angeles. I am the oldest of three and a first-generation college student. I live with my husband, two daughters, and our dog Bowie. I graduated from Boston University with a degree in English and Psychology. After graduating from Boston University, I lived in Boston for 11 years.

Work background

I am the Fulfillment Fund counselor that works with UCLA, APEX, and students in the Wise Readers Program. Prior to working at the Fulfillment Fund, I worked at an intensive care unit for adolescents. I returned back to my alma mater to start my work in college admissions. I worked in college admissions for 7 years, first as Assistant Director of admissions at Boston University and then Loyola Marymount University. I start my college counseling career at the Buckley School and have since worked at Viewpark Prep High school and Annenberg High School.

Fun Facts
In my free time, I like to go hiking with my family, travel, play with our dog Bowie. I love music and enjoy going to concerts. I am a huge sports fan- Let’s go Dodgers and LAFC.  Since I spent so many years in Boston, I always cheer for the Patriots and the Red Sox, unless they are playing against the Dodgers. During my downtime, I like to read.
