We kicked off April with purpose, energy, and connection at another successful Picture Your Perfect Career Day. This year, thirty-three students sharpened their networking skills alongside thirty-four top professionals from a wide range of industries. With participants fresh out of college, the event offered a powerful glimpse into careers in commercial banking, education, executive leadership, film and entertainment, public health, logistics, engineering, and more.
As we continue to expand our Career Readiness Programming, we’re excited to create even more meaningful opportunities for our students – connecting them with mentors, hands-on learning, and the confidence to take strides in the career path of their choice.
With support from our volunteers and incredible partners—including CareerSpring, National Association of Theatre Owners (NATO), and AIT Worldwide Logistics—students took part in a dynamic day of career-building sessions and personalized guidance. These partners not only showed up to support—they shared their expertise through engaging, interactive sessions that brought valuable industry insight straight to the students.
Throughout Picture Your Perfect Career Day, students participated in breakout sessions at the Fulfillment Fund home office, where they received personalized support—refreshing their résumés, optimizing LinkedIn profiles, and building confidence in professional networking.

At Picture Your Perfect Career Day, I was able to connect with a recruiter from a company I applied to for a summer internship. By meeting the recruiter in person, I was able to delve deeper into why I was interested in the company and the position, which helped me secure a first-round interview. Additionally, I received valuable tips from the recruiter on how to navigate the interviews. First-round interviews have been more challenging for me to obtain, but being able to connect with a recruiter was extremely helpful in securing interviews.
Coco Li, Mathematics and Computation Major at UCLA ’26
Coco Li’s experience is a testament to the power of showing up and making genuine connections. By taking the initiative to engage with a recruiter face-to-face, she not only stood out but also gained the confidence and insight needed to move forward in the process—ultimately landing a summer internship with AIT Worldwide Logistics.
What is the Career Readiness Program?
Our Career Readiness Program is designed to support students from high school through their first-year post-grad, equipping them with the skills, experiences, and connections needed to thrive in their aspired careers.
This level of guidance wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of our volunteers and the leadership of our College Success team and Career Advisor, Carla Trujillo. Carla is driving the momentum behind the continued growth of our Career Readiness programming, ensuring students are equipped with the tools and confidence they need to pursue their goals.
Carla brings a deep commitment to student success. Before joining Fulfillment Fund, she supported immigrant and first-generation students in accessing higher education and navigating their academic journeys. She later served at the University of San Francisco, supporting first-generation college students in exploring career paths with confidence and clarity.
Carla is leading the charge to ensure our students don’t just graduate college — they graduate career ready. Whether it’s through workshops like Picture Your Perfect Career Day, one-on-one coaching, or new partnerships with employers and career readiness platforms, Carla’s work is focused on helping students visualize their futures and take real steps toward achieving them.
Have questions about our Career Readiness Program or want to get involved? Reach out to Carla!
This year’s Picture your Perfect Career Day was just one of many efforts we’re making to bridge the gap between college and the work force. And with Carla on board, we’re more excited than ever to build a future where every student can see themselves in the career of their dreams — and have the knowledge and tools to pursue them with confidence.
