Nearly 1,500 students, parents, volunteers and college representatives gathered at the 20th annual Destination College on Saturday, October 15 at UCLA.
A record-breaking 1,532 students, parents, volunteers, mentors, college representatives, presenters, performers and staff members filled the UCLA campus with one goal in mind – college access.
Kick-starting the day was the opening program held inside Royce Hall, which features special speeches from Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs, Monroe Gordon Jr., Fulfillment Fund Founder and Chairman, Dr. Gary Gitnick, Fulfillment Fund Los Angeles CEO, Kenny Rogers, and incoming Fulfillment Fund CEO, Maria Espinosa Booth. YouthPhonics, a co-ed student-run a cappella group, also graced the stage energizing the audience of parents and students.
“This is a day filled with opportunities. I’m so excited and grateful to be here!”, said Jonathan, a senior at NOW academy.
Following the opening program students and parents split into various workshops that were geared toward college preparation. The college fair, which included 75 participating colleges and universities, followed the workshops and lunch catered by Panda Express.
The day concluded with a raffle including theme park tickets and a new Nike Apple watch donated by Integritas Resources Inc!
Special thanks to Panda Express for providing lunch to all of our Destination College attendees.
