Peer-to-peer fundraising allows you to share your passion for Fulfillment Fund’s mission and expand the reach and magnitude of your support by encouraging friends, family, and colleagues to find out more about how Fulfillment Fund serves our community, and do their part to make this possible by donating. Your advocacy through peer-to-peer fundraising not only generates more funds to support our critical services for students, but it also creates more awareness about Fulfillment Fund and our impact in the community.
When you personally reach out to your network about supporting Fulfillment Fund, you increase the chances of your contacts donating because they were introduced to our mission by someone they know and trust. This also bolsters our already strong reputation in the Los Angeles area. Your volunteerism as a peer-to-peer fundraiser is critical to Fulfillment Fund’s overall ability to generate much-needed funds and awareness– and lends to our ability to sustain our programs now and in the years to come.
A great way to kick start your own peer-to-peer fundraiser is through events, like races, galas, personal milestones (such as birthdays or weddings) or other gatherings. Proceeds can be directed to Fulfillment Fund through these events by simply asking your networks to give to Fulfillment Fund in celebration of your milestone. You can also use our simple online platform to create your own virtual fundraiser. Technology has made it so easy to build a virtual campaign in honor of a life event, or Giving Tuesday, or in response to a current event, or just because you want the people in your life to know about a cause that’s important to you!
Here’s how to create a virtual fundraiser for Fulfillment Fund:
- Visit Fulfillment Fund’s website, hover over “Give” in the blue menu bar at the top, and click on the “Host a Fundraiser” dropdown option.
- This will take you to our preferred peer-to-peer fundraising platform, Salsa.
- Click “Become a Fundraiser” to create an account, choose your fundraising goal, and set up your personal page. Suggested language to use for why you are raising money for Fulfillment Fund is provided, and you can personalize your page with your own message and photos.
- Once you’ve completed your fundraising page, share the link far and wide, via email, social media, text message, or all of the above!
As you may already know, tech giant Meta provides a way to fundraise through Facebook and Instagram. However, beginning October 31, 2023, Meta is partnering with PayPay Giving and will no longer cover the processing fees on any donations made as they did in the past. By creating a peer-to-peer fundraising page on Salsa and then sharing it on Facebook or Instagram, you will help minimize the donation processing fees Fulfillment Fund pays, as well as ensure that Fulfillment Fund can properly thank your contacts for making their generous donations.
