We demystify financial aid, helping students and parents consider which financial aid and scholarship resources can support college goals. Our seniors have the opportunity to discuss with their college counselor FAFSA and DREAM Act applications, review and decipher award letters, and receive scholarship application guidance.
Financial aid is a tricky world and sometimes it feels like the system has its own language, full of complex systems and phrases. There’s also incredible pressure, as schools become more and more expensive, to take out large loans to pay for school — ultimately leaving students with way too much debt.
As a part of our college counseling, every Fulfillment Fund senior gets the opportunity to meet with their counselor, who walks them through FAFSA and DACA aid applications, reviews and deciphers their award letters, and offers scholarship application guidance. We also host a variety of workshops for both parents and students throughout the school year including a financial aid workshop at Destination College+ event, and multiple Cash for College workshops at a variety of local schools.
