Jenny Amaya joined Fulfillment Fund as a college counselor in July 2022. Jenny serves 11th and 12th graders at Los Angeles High School of the Arts (LAHSA). Jenny conducts one-on-one college counseling sessions with high school juniors and seniors, providing resources, supporting them with accessing scholarship opportunities, and facilitating college and financial aid application workshops.
Jenny is a first-generation college graduate. She attended the University of Rochester, where she received a Bachelor’s of Arts in Archaeology and Italian Studies. As an undergraduate student, Jenny was able to study abroad in Italy and she loves to encourage students to seek out opportunities to study abroad and experience new places and cultures. Since receiving her degree, Jenny has had different roles within the education field. She completed a year of service with AmeriCorps, leading a volunteer program at a middle and high school in Rochester, NY. Jenny has been a teacher’s assistant, worked as an after-school mentor, and led an after-school program. Most recently, Jenny worked as a counselor aide, supporting middle and high school students and their families by facilitating college and career access and readiness. In 2023, Jenny completed her Master’s of Science in School Counseling and her Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Credential at California State University of Dominguez Hills, and she will continue to pursue her Child Welfare and Attendance Authorization. Jenny strives to empower youth to find their post-secondary success.
