Mauro Perez joined Fulfillment Fund in January 2021 as a College Success Advisor. He will be supporting freshmen students attending four-year colleges at various campuses across California and out-of-state. Part of his responsibilities is to counsel students with financial aid, academic planning, and accessing resources that help them in their college journey. Additionally, he will be centering his one-on-one meetings around discussions of mental health and self-care.
Mauro is a first-generation student born and raised in South Los Angeles. He graduated from UC Riverside with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. While in college, he worked as a Teacher’s Assistant at various elementary and middle school sites providing academic support to students in English and Math. Before joining Fulfillment Fund, Mauro worked for a non-profit organization in Pomona, where he helped first-generation students from underrepresented communities in their transition through college. Through one-on-one counseling, he provided financial aid, academic planning, and career readiness support to students. Mauro’s goal has always been to return to the community where he grew up to help and empower students.
